The creation of a virtual tour through the visionary proposals for the city of Chicago is an ongoing project, which records, locates, and catalogs architectural and urban dreams. By locating the proposals within the map of the city, the movie becomes simultaneously a collection and invention of evidences, a constructive re-inhabitation of visionary projects. As a collective, these schemes present a Chicago that is not real but does exist in our architectural consciousness. It’s a Phantom Chicago that is true and untrue and yet it doesn’t tell lies – a composite of dreams, fictions, fantasies, and utopias that ask us to suspend disbelief.
